About Our Professional Categories

All members of King County Collaborative Law have received specialized training in the collaborative process and facilitative dispute resolution, and are oriented toward reducing conflict and helping parties reach a resolution.

Child Specialists are neutral experts who assist a divorcing couple with parenting and custody issues.

Coaches are professionals with backgrounds as mediators, counselors or mental health workers who help parties communicate effectively during the negotiation process. They can be brought into difficult meetings to serve as neutrals to keep communications productive and respectful, or can work in one-on-one sessions outside of the negotiation process to help a party deal with difficult communication issues.

Financial professionals serve as neutral experts to help parties understand and resolve money issues.

Additional Collaborative Practitioners are professionals in various fields, such as real estate, mortgage, or vocational counseling, who are trained to work within the collaborative process.
