About Us
King County Collaborative Law is a volunteer, non-profit association of lawyers and allied professionals who believe that resolving legal conflicts using the collaborative law process produces
the best results for our clients.
King County Collaborative Law promotes the use and advancement of collaborative law practice through education, training and outreach while fostering a community of collaborative professionals. We advocate incorporating the collaborative law process into the legal system through legislation and court rules to ensure its increased availability to the public.
All members of King County Collaborative Law have received specialized training in the skills and processes required to assist their clients in resolving disputes according to the collaborative law protocols.
King County Collaborative Law was formed in 2003 as a non-profit
corporation under the name NW Collaborative Divorce. In 2005
the name was changed to Washington Collaborative Law (to reflect the variety of legal areas in which collaborative law can be
used), and in 2006 the present name was adopted.
